Job Description

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid New Mexico Occupational Therapist license required
• Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred, with exposure to elementary, middle, or high school caseloads considered a strong asset
• Understanding of IEP development, documentation, and implementation
• Effective communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams
• Compassion, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to helping diverse student populations achieve their goals

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings
• Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and contribute to IEP meetings in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Collaborate with teachers and families to support student engagement and functional participation in school activities
• Deliver therapy interventions designed to enhance fine motor, sensory processing, and self-help skills
• Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate outcomes to stakeholders
• Participate in professional development opportunities and team meetings as needed
