Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your primary focus will be on assessing and treating a diverse range of issues within various family dynamics. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments of clients through interviews and evaluations to identify issues affecting mental health and relationship dynamics.

• Facilitating therapy sessions with couples, providing a safe space to navigate interpersonal conflicts.

• Providing individual therapy sessions for family members to address personal challenges.
\n
• Specializing in treatment for a variety of concerns such as alcohol abuse, grief and loss, blended family issues, and communication difficulties.

• Developing customized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of clients and their families.
\n
• Monitoring client progress, adjusting treatment approaches as necessary, and documenting outcomes meticulously.

• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals to enhance patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In your role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse client population, including both adult and adolescent clients. Your expertise will be essential in addressing issues such as conflicts among family members, adjustment to separation and divorce, and mother/daughter conflicts. You will engage with families from varied backgrounds and socio-economic statuses, providing you with a rich tapestry of experiences that foster personal and professional growth.

Qualifications\n

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Current and active LMFT license in the state of Connecticut.

• A master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of one year of post-licensure experience is required, candidates with additional experience in handling complex family systems, trauma-informed care, or specific therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) will be preferred. Flexibility in scheduling, with availability exceeding 30 hours per week, is also a key component.
