LCSW - OAKMH Behavioral Health - PRN

This job engages in advanced clinical social work practice in the medical setting based on the application of social work theory, knowledge, ethics, and methods to restore or enhance social, psychosocial, or biopsychosocial functioning of individuals, couples, families, groups, organizations, and communities. The role includes prevention, assessment, and treatment of mental, emotional, behavioral, and addictive disorders, multidisciplinary treatment planning, and coordination of complex discharge plans through community-based services. Education Master's in Social Work (MSW) – required Work Experience 5 years of related experience – required Experience in a medical social work field – preferred Certifications Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of practice – required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Good knowledge of disease entities, disorders, and medical terminology to understand patient needs. Excellent psychotherapeutic skills. Superior interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, peers, and community agencies. Advanced knowledge of acute and chronic care medical settings, psychosocial and economic effects of illness or trauma. Advanced knowledge of managed care and public programs (Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, commercial insurance). Proficiency in computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills to present information clearly to various audiences. Ability to travel between facilities and work flexible schedules (24/7, weekend, holiday, on-call). Job Duties Interview and assess patients and assist throughout patient care plans. Identify and provide helpful resources to patients and families. Maintain patient records, document, and communicate critical information to the medical team. Participate in on‑call rotation. Adapt behavior to meet the specific patient population, respecting privacy, introduction methods, explanation of services, permissions, and communication style. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Physical and Environmental Demands Medium work: Exerting 20–50 pounds of force occasionally, 10–25 pounds frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly. No routine exposure to blood or body fluids, though exposure may occur; patients with communicable diseases may be encountered. Risk of exposure to hazardous medications or waste during receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, or disposal. Eligibility for Remote Work Individuals who reside in or will work from Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, or Washington D.C. are not eligible for remote work positions.
