We are growing rapidly and actively recruiting exceptional talent to join our mission of building the next-generation auto retail platform.About the RoleAs the Lead Technician, you'll serve as the technical leader of Ever's reconditioning operation. This role combines advanced hands-on vehicle repair with leadership responsibilities, helping establish best-in-class shop standards while coaching technicians and improving operational efficiency.You'll spend a significant portion of your time performing complex repairs and diagnostics while also developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), training technicians, improving quality, and partnering with the Reconditioning Manager to maximize shop throughput, safety, and customer satisfaction.What You'll OwnPerform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and vehicle reconditioning on electric and conventional vehiclesServe as the technical escalation point for complex mechanical and electrical repairsCoach, mentor, and train technicians on repair quality, efficiency, safety, and OEM best practicesDevelop, document, and continuously improve shop SOPs, repair workflows, quality standards, and inspection processesConduct quality control inspections before vehicles are released for saleStandardize repair procedures across the shop to improve consistency and reduce reworkLead technician onboarding and hands-on skills developmentAssist with workload planning and daily shop prioritizationPartner with the Reconditioning Manager on productivity initiatives and continuous improvement projectsIdentify process bottlenecks and recommend operational improvementsEnsure technicians follow OEM repair procedures and Ever quality standardsSupport implementation of lean shop practices, 5S organization, and workplace safety initiativesMonitor repair quality, comeback rates, and technician performance trendsAssist with tooling recommendations and shop equipment improvementsDocument repairs accurately in Ever systemsMaintain compliance with high-voltage safety procedures and OSHA standardsFoster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing shop cultureQualifications & Fit5+ years of automotive technician experience with demonstrated technical expertisePrevious Lead Technician, Shop Foreman, Team Lead, or similar leadership experience preferredExperience training, coaching, or mentoring techniciansStrong diagnostic abilities across electrical, mechanical, and drivability systemsExperience creating or improving shop processes and repair standardsStrong communication, organization, and leadership skillsPassion for operational excellence and continuous improvementValid driver's license with a clean driving record (21+ for road testing)Technical SkillsAdvanced diagnostic skills using OEM and aftermarket scan toolsExperience with EV platforms (Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, GM, Ford, Hyundai/Kia) preferredHigh-voltage safety certification preferredAbility to interpret wiring diagrams and service informationExperience with brake, suspension, steering, drivetrain, HVAC, and electrical systemsExperience developing repair documentation and SOPsASE Master Technician and OEM EV certifications are a plusPhysical RequirementsStand and walk for extended periodsLift up to 50 poundsBend, kneel, squat, crawl, and work underneath vehiclesOperate lifts, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinerySafely drive and road test vehiclesBenefitsCompetitive salary + performance bonusHealth, dental, and vision insurancePTO401(k) planWhy Ever and this Role?Lead the technical direction of a rapidly growing EV reconditioning operationHelp build scalable shop processes from the ground upMentor the next generation of EV techniciansWork with the latest EV technologyMake a direct impact on vehicle quality, operational excellence, and customer experienceEver is an equal opportunity employer.
