Staff Software Engineer

Salary: $155,600 - 233,400 per year Requirements:

• We bring extensive hands-on experience with C, C++, Java, or C#.
• We have worked with multithreading and memory management approaches.
• We are proficient in debugging and troubleshooting tools such as GDB.
• We can analyze and optimize software performance using appropriate tooling.
• We are experienced with source control systems such as Git or SVN.
• We have substantial experience writing high-quality unit tests with mock objects.
• We understand object-oriented analysis and design.
• We demonstrate strong problem-solving ability.
• Preferred: we have experience developing real-time software systems.
• Preferred: we have exposure to image processing algorithms and techniques.
• Preferred: we have experience with time-series analysis and temporal data interpretation.
• Preferred: we are familiar with Python and Python visualization libraries.
• Preferred: we are customer-focused, collaborative, and motivated, with a strong sense of ownership.

• We hold a BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
• We have 8+ years of professional software development experience.

• We define software architecture solutions for high-performance signal processing pipelines.
• We design, develop, debug, and integrate C/C++ software on Linux for multithreaded applications.
• We optimize and accelerate software running on our instruments.
• We work closely with bioinformatics, instrument design, test, and quality teams.
• We collaborate in an agile environment to deliver and maintain high-quality software in line with established processes.
• We stay current on industry trends and assess emerging software and hardware technologies for platform development.
• We provide technical leadership when needed.
