Job Summary :
The Assistant Manager of Lift Maintenance provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all mechanical and electrical aspects of aerial lifts, surface lifts,conveyors, and related equipment at both Attitash and Wildcat.This role ensures that lifts operate safely, reliably, and in full compliance with ANSI B77.1 standards, OSHA, and all manufacturer and company policies.
This leader manages both mechanical and electrical lift teams, driving operational excellence, safety culture, preventive maintenance, workforce development, and long-range asset planning. The position supports innovation, continuous improvement, and alignment with enterprise standards and resort operating goals.

• Starting Wage: $63,431.73 - $85,359.15

Job Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and manage lift maintenance and lift electrical teams.
• Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team aligned with company values and competencies.
• Drive workforce planning, training programs, performance management, and succession planning.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships across Mountain Operations, Health & Safety, and corporate partners.
  

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with ANSI B77.1, OSHA, EPA, New Hampshire State lift codes, USFS and internal policies.
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure timely documentation of inspections,repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Conduct or oversee safety audits, accident investigations, and operational readiness procedures.
• Maintain all lift maintenance and electrical records required by authorities, including daily logs, inspections, ops reports, and incident documentation.
  

Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Operations

• Direct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and system upgrades.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs, including annual maintenance and component lifecycle planning.
• Maintain inventory controls for parts, tools, and equipment; manage warehouse processes and long-term stock needs.
• Support and participate in capital projects, new lift installations, and major mechanical/electrical upgrades.
  

Strategic Planning & Program Development

• Develop annual work plans, preventive maintenance schedules, and long-range asset replacement strategies.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including technical training, workflow optimization, and documentation improvements.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise asset management (EAM) systems and accurate maintenance tracking.
  

Collaboration & Communication

• Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies, manufacturers, contractors,and internal leadership.
• Provide regular updates to the Mountain Maintenance Manager and Sr. Director of Mountain Operations regarding lift status, reliability metrics, safety issues, and project progress.
• Ensure operations staff are informed and trained to support lift safety and performance. 

Budgeting & Resource Management

• Manage operating and capital budgets for both mechanical and electrical lift maintenance programs.
• Forecast financial needs, develop capital project scopes, and ensure efficient departmental spending.
• Support procurement processes and maintain accurate financial documentation.
  

Working Conditions

• Mountain outdoor environment with variable weather; requires climbing,accessing lift towers, machinery rooms, and moving equipment.
• May operate snowmobiles, UTVs, and specialized vehicles.
• Requires availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak periods.
  

Job Requirements:

• 3-8 years of mechanical and/or electrical lift maintenance experience.
• Expert knowledge of aerial lifts (detachable and fixed-grip), surface lifts,conveyors, and electrical systems.
• Strong working knowledge of ANSI B77.1, OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations.
• Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and team-development skills.
• Proficiency with CMMS/EAM systems and Microsoft Office.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds and work in demanding mountain environments.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  

Preferred

• 5+ years of electrical lift experience, including programmable logic controllers (PLC), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control systems.
• 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience in alpine resort maintenance leadership.
• Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability.

 

The expected pay range is $63,431.73 - $85,359.15. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
