Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic K-8 setting near Chicago, IL. This full-time, contract position is vital to supporting students with diverse learning needs, primarily focusing on those with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Developmental Disabilities (DD). You will be responsible for implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), offering both push-in and pull-out services to foster academic and emotional growth in reading, foundational math skills, and social behaviors. Collaborate closely with fellow educators to create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child can reach their full potential.

Key Qualifications:

• 1-5 years teaching experience in special education required
• Valid LBS1 Teacher Certification
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Strong belief in the potential of low-income students to achieve college and career readiness
• High expectations for yourself and your students
• Adaptability and flexibility when priorities shift
• Creative, proactive, and communicative approach to working with colleagues and families
• Demonstrated mastery in academic content and behavioral interventions

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction as outlined in each student’s IEP
• Provide both small group (pull out) and in-class (push in) supports
• Manage a caseload of approximately 20 students, focusing on literacy and fundamental math skills
• Monitor and document academic and behavioral progress
• Collaborate with team members and families to support each child’s unique learning journey
• Uphold rigorous academic standards alongside character development
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuous improvement
