And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.The Global Network Delivery organization is looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our growing Planning team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The team responsibilities involve scoping and planning new network capacity deployments across several data center locations. They will review project forecasts and assure physical infrastructure resources are available for their execution.The Network Deployment ‘Planner’ will work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to the local data center installation & deployment technicians to facilitate smooth capacity execution.The ideal candidate will possess a technology background that enables them to understand the complexities of the sophisticated network architecture of Amazon data centers. To be a qualified candidate you must be highly autonomous, detail oriented, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and have experience in managing network deployment projects. They will be competent in networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure and fiber solutions.This position will provide the individual with high levels of autonomous work with minimal supervision to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and to assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous, collaborative environment is essential for success.Key job responsibilities1. Strategic Planning & Design Managementa. Contribute in developing comprehensive 6-8 months network implementation roadmaps aligned with AWS DC expansion targetsb. Create and optimize network position layouts and rack placement strategies for data centre floor space utilizationc. Review and contribute to High-Level Design (HLD) documentationd. Coordinate with engineering teams to validate technical requirements and design specificationse. Develop capacity planning models to ensure infrastructure scalabilityf. Create standardized planning templates and methodologies for network implementations2. Project & Resource Managementa. Lead end-to-end project planning for multiple concurrent network implementation initiativesb. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and dependenciesc. Manage project scope, and quality parametersd. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategiese. Improvise and optimize planning by incorporating lessons learnt of latest deployed projects, iteratively.f. Coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project deliverablesg. Track and report weekly project progress and/or otherwise informed to key stakeholders3. Supply Chain & Inventory Planninga. Develop project inventory forecasts and requirementsb. Optimize developed counts by utilizing prior surplus spares.c. Coordinate with procurement teams for strategic resource acquisitiond. Manage vendor relationships and delivery schedulese. Establish and stick to procurement timelines aligned with project schedules4. Program Governance & Process Excellencea. Establish and maintain project management frameworks and best practicesb. Develop sustainable and repeatable planning processesc. Create and maintain project documentation and reporting standardsd. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning methodologiese. Build and maintain stakeholder communication channelsf. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
