Shipping Clerk

Job Description

Hamilton Connections is currently seeking a Shipping Clerk in North Haven, CT. The ideal candidate has shipping, data entry, Microsoft experience coupled with steady, verifiable work history.

Shipping Clerk details:

1. Assists customers on all issues, acts as a liaison between the customer and Stord personnel, answers questions, offers solutions, and researches issues in a timely and positive manner.
2. Accurate input and verification of BOLs on a timely basis.
3. Check in and out all carriers in accurate and timely manner.
4. Make or change appointments for customers as required.
5. Organization of files, to ensure the proper information and documentation is available to the customer in a timely and efficient manner.
6. Generating and retention of any required reporting for the customer and Stord.
7. Update outbound schedule and dispatch at scheduled times each day.
8. Print outbound BOLs and make available for drivers to pick up.
9. Communicates with the customer verbally and in writing with a professional and positive attitude.
10. Assist in answering the phones and making appointments as needed.
11. Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management
12. Maintain orderly desk area with information available to all associates and customers as needed.

Job Requirements:

1. Must be able to stand for periods of up to 12 hours a day
2. Must pass pre-employment test if applicable
3. Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service role
4. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point
5. Computer/WMS experience preferred
6. RF experience preferred
7. Screenings Required

Starting salary estimate:

• $18
• Monday - Friday (8:30am - 5pm)
