$34 to $35 per hour.JOB DESCRIPTION
CV Resources, in partnership with our client, a retail company, seeks an experienced Payroll Specialist to support its payroll department. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role will be responsible for processing accurate and timely bi-weekly, and multi-state payroll over 1,000 employees. The Payroll Specialist will play a key role in timekeeping review, payroll processing, garnishments, and the company’s upcoming payroll transition to another payroll program.RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PAYROLL SPECIALIST
PAYROLL PROCESSING
Review time and attendance records in UKG and resolve discrepancies before payroll processing. Process bi-weekly payroll batches, including hours, special pay, deductions, and adjustments. Prepare and process manual payroll checks as needed. Complete payroll-related termination workflows and ensure final pay is accurate and timely. Set up and monitor employee wage garnishments per applicable requirements. Partner with district managers and internal teams to troubleshoot payroll and timekeeping issues. Collaborate with HRIS to ensure data accuracy and assist with integrations and uploads. Support the transition to Workday, including data migration, system testing, and cross-functional coordination. Provide professional support to employees and managers with payroll questions. AUDIT & Compliance Maintain payroll and timekeeping records. Support audits and reporting.REQUIREMENTS OF THE PAYROLL SPECIALIST
Required At least 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience. Experience processing multi-state payroll for organizations of at least five hundred (500) employees. Preferred Experience in retail or multi-unit environments. Exposure to a payroll system conversion.SKILLS OF THE PAYROLL SPECIALIST
Required Technical Experience with UKG (UKG Pro/UltiPro) Strong Excel skills for reconciling and analyzing payroll data. Interpersonal Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to meet tight payroll deadlines. Hands-on and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Team-player attitude with strong customer service skills. Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
