Project Executive

As a senior management leader, this role oversees Project Management, Operations, and Equipment functions for large scale heavy civil construction projects. The primary focus is on achieving profitability objectives, maintaining operational excellence, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction. Contribute to the development and execution of corporate strategy while supporting effective company wide performance management. Establish and execute short term and long term operational objectives aligned with overall organizational strategy. Provide leadership and oversight of Project Management, Field Operations, and Equipment functions. Ensure appropriate project staffing, equipment maintenance and delivery, financial management, and client relationship management across all projects. Provide comprehensive leadership to Project Managers, Engineers, and Superintendents, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Evaluate employee performance and support professional development and training. Conduct regular project reviews and audits, monitoring project margins, costs, schedules, and financial performance. Implement corrective actions when necessary. Collaborate with engineering leadership and Project Managers to address cost overruns, delays, scope changes, and other significant project challenges. Implement engineering recommendations and develop effective solutions to complex operational and technical challenges that require senior level oversight. Work closely with engineering and project leadership to promote technical and operational excellence through established quality assurance processes. Ensure consistent understanding and implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and operational standards. Promote a strong safety culture across all projects and ensure compliance with established safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Develop and maintain a strong professional network within the industry and actively participate in industry and civic organizations to strengthen professional relationships and community involvement. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. MBA preferred. Professional Engineer's License is a plus. Minimum of fifteen years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, including estimating, project management, scheduling, and cost control. Strong financial background with experience managing corporate and project budgets. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead construction operations and large project teams. Excellent project management and operational leadership skills. Strong leadership abilities with an emphasis on team development, employee growth, and performance management. Strong negotiation, decision making, and problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to drive results through others while maintaining a strategic perspective focused on three to five year organizational objectives. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, construction management, project management, and estimating software. Ability to interpret technical data, construction drawings, architectural specifications, contracts, and legal documents. Advanced knowledge of the heavy civil construction industry and related project delivery practices.
