Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

You’ll play a vital part in maintaining quality education by covering for special education teachers during absences, whether planned or unplanned.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching Certification—must be submitted with your application
• Proven experience or training in special education teaching practices
• Comfortable working with students across a broad age/grade range
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Flexibility to accept assignments on short notice for both same-day and planned absences

Role Responsibilities:

• Step into classrooms as needed to provide instruction and support to students with disabilities
• Implement established lesson plans, adapting as needed to meet individual student requirements
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Organize and supervise classroom activities aligned with district standards
• Communicate effectively with staff and administrators on student progress and classroom needs
• Carry out all professional duties expected of a substitute educator
