Quality Assurance Inspector

Job Description The QA Inspector monitors and ensures all incoming raw materials, packaging components, and returned goods are sampled, inspected, and tested (where applicable) to determine compliance with established specifications. They also ensure all phases of drug manufacturing comply with established specifications, receiving, inspecting, releasing, and controlling labels and outserts to guarantee quality compliance before, during, and after each packaging run. Schedule 1st Shift—7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday Essential Functions Perform inspection, sampling, and testing of all incoming raw materials, packaging components, and returned goods following written procedures; prepare chemical and microbiological samples for the QC lab; inspect and test packaging components using tools such as scales, micrometers, and height gauges; maintain detailed records of sampling, inspection, and testing activities; assign and verify expiry and retest dates for all GMP raw materials through vendor COA and in‑house COA; collect packaged product samples for annual stability. Conduct room, equipment, and packaging line checks prior to each manufacturing stage; perform in‑process testing per batch record instructions; prepare controlled/uncontrolled/packaged finished product samples for the QC lab and QA reserves; maintain standard weights for balance verification. Receive labeling components, perform visual examination, counting, preliminary inspection, and sampling; prepare inspection reports for labeling components/outserts; quarantine and release labels; maintain an incoming components log and inventory cards; issue labeling components/outserts according to packaging orders; regularly monitor and audit the label room; complete the final labeled product inspection report and line clearance, including labeling and packaging reconciliation paperwork. Ensure compliance of the warehouse area regarding isolation of quarantine, released, in‑process, finished product, packaged product, returned goods, and rejected areas. Ensure proper isolation of rejected material generated during batch processes and maintain accountability in the batch record. Monitor facility and product environmental operating conditions. Additional Responsibilities Operate, maintain, and calibrate hardness tester, friabilator, weight variation system, weighing scales, balances, label counting machine, and Kirby‑Lester tablet counters; keep detailed calibration records. Collect samples for reassessment of bulk finished product before expiration. Work in a contained manufacturing area following all precautions and procedures. Perform visual inspection and prepare reports for all products for APR. Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Education High School or GED - Required Experience 1 year or more in QA or a related field Specialized Knowledge Good basic math knowledge and excellent attention to detail. Records observations for improving processes. Additional requirement: Successful completion of an OSHA‑compliant Respirator Fit Test. The hourly base salary for this position ranges from $19.50 to $23.50 per hour.
