About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to lead its legal function in a fast-paced, AI-native environment. The successful candidate will be a key partner to the executive team, providing strategic legal advice and guidance on a wide range of commercial, corporate, employment, privacy, and regulatory matters. This role requires a legal leader with a JD from an accredited law school, active bar membership, and at least 10 years of legal experience, including a significant tenure at a top-tier law firm and in-house at a high-growth tech company. The ideal candidate will have a broad generalist legal background, strong commercial instincts, and a deep understanding of the evolving legal landscape surrounding AI, including IP, data licensing, and regulatory considerations. As the primary legal partner to the executive team, the Associate General Counsel will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and closing various agreements, building legal infrastructure, and advising on employment and people matters. The role also involves managing outside counsel, shaping the company's approach to legal and regulatory issues, and leading the transformation of legal operations to incorporate AI tools for increased efficiency. The candidate should have a low ego, high ownership mentality, and be adept at using AI tools to drive change within the legal team. This is a high-visibility, high-judgment position that demands a proactive, hands-on approach to legal leadership in a rapidly scaling business.
