Ivy City Co. is a place where beauty, confidence, and community flourish.About the RoleWe're looking for an experienced HR Operations Generalist to own the day-to-day operations of Human Resources at Ivy City Co.This is a hands-on, operational role for someone who enjoys creating order, keeping processes running smoothly, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. You'll serve as the primary owner of payroll administration, benefits, compliance, employee lifecycle processes, and HR operations - helping ensure our employees have a seamless experience while the business stays compliant and organized.This is not a strategic HR Business Partner or people management role. Instead, it's ideal for someone who enjoys being the person behind the scenes who keeps everything moving. The right candidate is highly organized, proactive, self-sufficient, and takes pride in accuracy, consistency, and follow-through.This position averages approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility to increase to approximately 25 hours during payroll processing or seasonal hiring periods.This is a remote position. You naturally notice details others miss, stay organized even when juggling multiple priorities, and take pride in making sure things are done right.You likely enjoy behind-the-scenes operational work more than employee relations or organizational strategy, and you're energized by creating structure, maintaining compliance, and keeping HR running smoothly.Why You'll Enjoy This RoleThis role is perfect for someone who finds satisfaction in keeping things organized, accurate, and running smoothly.You'll have the autonomy to own your work, improve a few key processes, and become the trusted person who keeps HR operations moving - without spending your days managing people or sitting in back-to-back meetings.If you're someone who loves bringing structure to the details and takes pride in making sure nothing slips through the cracks, we'd love to meet you.What You'll OwnPayroll & HR AdministrationOwn semi-monthly payroll processing, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on timeProcess new hires, compensation changes, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll updatesMaintain payroll records and ensure accuracy across HR systemsResearch and resolve payroll discrepanciesMaintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirementsMaintain 401k and benefits reconciliations with payrollEmployee Lifecycle AdministrationCoordinate new hire onboarding, including offer documentation, I-9 and E-Verify completion, benefits enrollment, orientation scheduling, and equipment coordinationHelp establish a more consistent and automated onboarding process that creates a positive experience for new employeesManage employee offboarding, including separation documentation, COBRA administration, unemployment claims, and required compliance activitiesEnsure personnel files remain complete, organized, and audit-ready throughout the employee lifecycleBenefits, Leave & ComplianceServe as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and issue resolutionAdminister health benefits, leave programs, and protected leaves, including FMLA, ADA, and parental leaveCoordinate annual Open Enrollment, including employee communications and enrollment supportPartner with the company's benefits broker on renewals and ongoing administrationManage workers' compensation claims and unemployment claimsComplete annual ACA reporting, including Forms 1095 and related compliance requirementsMonitor changes in employment law and help ensure ongoing compliance across multiple statesMaintain HR policies, required notices, and compliance documentationHR OperationsKeep HR processes organized, efficient, and well documentedCoordinate recurring HR administrative tasks, reminders, and required employee communicationsSupport employee engagement surveys through administration, reporting, and follow-upAssist with seasonal hiring administration during peak business periodsIdentify opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and overall operational efficiencyProject manage by collaborating with President, external law firm and other Ivy City Co team members, on various legal-related initiatives ensuring compliance and projects reach milestones and completionQualifications5+ years of experience in HR Operations or as an HR GeneralistExperience independently processing payroll from start to finishStrong knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and regulationsExperience administering benefits, leave management, ADA accommodations, FMLA, COBRA, ACA, workers' compensation, and unemployment claimsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple prioritiesExceptional organizational skills and attention to detailStrong written communication and documentation skillsExperience partnering with payroll providers, benefits brokers, and external HR vendors; Has familiarity with Gusto, QBO, When I Work, Employee Navigator & GBS BenefitsHR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR) is a plus but not requiredThe Application ProcessSubmit your resume and LinkedIn profileIf selected, youll move on to a 30 min screening interview with our external recruiting partner - Recruiter Unlimited.From there, youll meet with the President, Kendra and complete a short skills assessment.Final interview will be an interview with another member of the leadership team.Equal Employment OpportunityAt Ivy City Co., we believe our people are our greatest strength.
