Asphalt Plant Operator

DESCRIPTION:

Operate computerized controls to produce quality asphalt mixtures according to specifications and mix designs for State and local customers
Deliver specified mixture and quantities onto trucks/load trucks and create proper tickets
Be able to recognize improper tickets and correct them
Ensure personnel safety including customers delivering/receiving materials
Monitor the operation and function of the plant throughout the workday
Assist with plant maintenance and routine servicing
Assist plant foreman with ordering supplies and materials
Train plant personnel and have knowledge of their daily tasks

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

1-3 experience years including familiarized with aspects of mix design, mix design manufacturing process, and operation and maintenance of a computerized plant
Ability to communicate effectively
Use of simple math, including use of Excel workbooks or similar with knowledge of formulas, charts, tables, drawings
General computer skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate physical activity required
Occasional lifting of heavy material, especially when plant is under repair

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High school diploma or GED
