Guest Relations Specialist

Provide guests with directions, patient locations, and hospital amenity information Communicate clearly, courteously, and effectively while confirming guest understanding Listen to complaints calmly and positively Respond promptly to patient, family, and staff requests Identify patient and family needs and secure appropriate referrals, solutions, and services Support patients and families under the Americans with Disabilities Act and with limited English proficiency Supervise waiting rooms as requested Track family members and facilitate communication between families and healthcare professionals Assist families in locating patients as they move through the healthcare system Communicate condition reports to callers according to departmental policy Maintain clean and safe family waiting areas with Environmental and Security Services Respond to emergency, crisis, and disaster situations Maintain training related to Service Excellence and Performance Improvement initiatives Collect data and documentation to identify customer service improvement areas Assist leaders with recommendations for policy and procedure changes Record and submit documentation and statistical reports for services provided Provide transportation vouchers, bus passes, and emergency clothing as needed Assist with evaluation of the Guest Relations Program, customer satisfaction, education plans, and quality management guidelines Communicate with the Guest Relations Manager about departmental issues and request personnel or resource assistance Perform notarizations for Healthcare Power of Attorney, Living Wills, and other pertinent healthcare documents Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree preferred Experience in healthcare and/or customer service preferred Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered Must lift a minimum of 50 lbs. for moving and lifting patients in/out of wheelchairs Must be able to clearly communicate in English Intact sense of sight and hearing required Must be mobile within the entire healthcare provider system Ability to walk, sit, lift, and reach Ability to work around patients, families, and potentially infectious or blood-borne pathogens Ability to perform notarizations following applicable state Notary Laws and Regulations Core Competencies Demonstrates strong communication skills and the ability to assist patients and families effectively within a healthcare environment. Capable of managing guest relations, providing support under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and performing notarizations in compliance with state regulations.
