Who We Are Looking ForGlobal Treasury Risk Management (GTRM), part of State Street’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function, is seeking a Vice President (VP) level risk leader to join its Quarterly Stress Testing team. This role is suited for a seasoned risk professional with deep expertise in stress testing, capital planning, and balance sheet risk, who can provide strategic direction, strong governance, and leadership across complex, enterprise‑wide processes.ERM’s mission is to ensure that State Street’s risks are proactively identified, well‑understood, and prudently managed in support of the firm’s business strategy. GTRM provides independent risk oversight of Global Treasury activities, including capital management, liquidity risk, asset‑liability risk, funding, and rating agency engagement.The Quarterly Stress Testing team plays a critical role in capital adequacy assessment, regulatory compliance, and risk appetite management. In this role, you will help ensure that stress testing frameworks are robust, scalable, and forward‑looking, while enabling informed decision‑making at the senior management level.What You Will Be Responsible ForAs a Vice President on the Quarterly Stress Testing team, you will:Lead the design, execution, and governance of quarterly stress testing processes supporting capital planning and risk managementDrive development of rapid stress testing capabilitiesProvide subject‑matter expertise on scenario design, linkage of scenarios to material risks, and identification of add‑on risk considerationsOversee assessments of the firm’s capital adequacy relative to internal risk appetite and regulatory expectationsProvide independent review and challenge of regional ICAAP and ICARA processes, including scenario design and resultsContribute to material risk identification framework enhancementsAct as a senior point of contact for stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Treasury, and Internal Audit, ensuring alignment with firm objectivesDrive risk appetite limit recalibration discussions and challenge assumptions where appropriateEnsure stress testing processes are well‑controlled, documented, and compliant with regulatory and internal policy requirementsIdentify and lead process improvements and remediation efforts, promoting a strong control culture and continuous improvement mindsetProvide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to talent development and team effectivenessSupport regulatory exams, internal audits, and senior management reviews, including preparation of high‑quality materials and presentationsWhat We ValueThese skills will help you succeed in this role:Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop clear risk perspectives and communicate complex concepts succinctlyDeep understanding of stress testing, capital planning, and balance sheet riskExcellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior levelsStrong governance mindset with experience designing and maintaining effective controlsHigh level of integrity, independence of thought, and sound judgmentAdvanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; ability to translate analysis into executive‑level insightsHighly organized, self‑directed, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentEducation & Preferred Qualifications8+ years of relevant experience in risk management, stress testing, capital planning, or related areas within financial servicesStrong understanding of financial instruments across a broad range of businessesSolid knowledge of bank balance sheet and income statement dynamicsBachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a STEM discipline preferredSalary Range: $130,000 - $220,000 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
