Litigation Paralegal

St. Petersburg , FL Description: Vernis & Bowling’s downtown St. Petersburg office is seeking paralegals to join our team. We are an civil litigation defense law firm. The ideal paralegal candidate for this position will have aminimum of 4 years of litigation defense experience. Job Duties Summarizes records and court files. Schedules couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses & other special functions. Researches sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, constitutions, and public records. Drafts, prepares and performs limited reviews of legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, discovery materials, appeals and contracts. Assists in trial preparation and discovery practices such as gathering and organizing exhibits, trial data, documents, and other materials in response to subpoenas, discovery requests, interrogatories, motions for summary judgments, etc. Serves as a limited liaison between counsel, clients, experts, witnesses, third parties, and other outside contacts. Maintains attorney’s calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, and depositions.
