AP Specialist

Kforce has a clilent in Rockville, MD that is seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist. Job Description: The AP Specialist is responsible for processing invoices, maintaining accurate vendor records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payments. This person supports the AP function by resolving discrepancies and assisting with month-end close and reporting. Responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices for accuracy and proper approval
• Enter invoices and payments into the accounting system
• Prepare and process vendor payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain accurate vendor records and AP documentation
• Respond to vendor inquiries and payment-related questions
• Assist with month-end close and AP reporting
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Support other accounting and administrative tasks as needed
• High School diploma/GED required; Accounting coursework or degree preferred
• 4+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
