Compensation: Competitive base salary (DOE) + commission and performance incentives — new-account commission plus service-plan and renewal bonuses. Total target earnings discussed at offer.

About the Role

Arizona Roofers is looking for a hunter. Our Business Development Representative (BDR) is the front end of our commercial pipeline — the person who gets us in front of the people who own and manage buildings across the Phoenix metro. If you're relentless on follow-up, credible standing on a rooftop, and you'd rather be out prospecting than sitting behind a desk, we want to talk to you.

This is an activity-driven, self-generated-pipeline role. You'll cold call, canvass office, industrial, retail, and multifamily properties, work the bid boards, and build real relationships with property managers, facility directors, building owners, HOA/community managers, general contractors, and commercial real estate brokers. You'll open doors with low-commitment inspection and maintenance offerings, set roof assessments for our estimating team, and follow every proposal until it's won or lost. You'll also own recurring revenue — selling and renewing annual maintenance plans and service agreements year after year.

Estimating owns system selection, scope, and pricing — you own getting in the door, building the relationship, and closing the deal.

What You'll Do

• Generate new opportunities. Cold call, canvass office, industrial, retail, and multifamily properties, and build referral relationships — this is priority #1.
• Own the relationships. Build and maintain a network of property managers, facility directors, building owners, HOA/community managers, GCs, and commercial real estate brokers.
• Represent the company. Attend industry events and trade associations — BOMA, IFMA, CAI, chamber events, and trade shows.
• Work the bid boards. Monitor plan rooms (Dodge, The Blue Book, ConstructConnect, GC bid invitations) and register for qualified opportunities.
• Qualify and manage the pipeline. Qualify leads, log everything in the CRM, schedule roof assessments and site walks, and attend pre-bid meetings and job walks.
• Follow up relentlessly. Run a structured follow-up cadence on every outstanding proposal — no proposal goes dark.
• Sell the service plan. Sell annual preventative maintenance plans, inspection programs, and service agreements, and attach a maintenance plan to every completed project.
• Own the renewals. Manage service plan renewals and keep recurring accounts active year over year.
• Grow the account. Re-engage dormant accounts and lost proposals, and expand from a single building to a property manager's full portfolio.
• Report your numbers. Track and report weekly KPIs — calls, appointments set, site walks, proposals outstanding, service plans sold, and closes.
  

What We're Looking For

• Experience in B2B outside sales, business development, or commercial construction/roofing sales.
• A track record of self-generated pipeline — cold calling, canvassing, and outbound prospecting.
• Comfort calling on property managers, facility directors, building owners, and general contractors.
• Experience selling recurring service, maintenance, or subscription agreements is a plus.
• Working knowledge of commercial roofing systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, coatings, metal) is a plus — we'll train you.
• Strong CRM discipline and excellent verbal/written communication.
• Highly organized and self-directed; comfortable managing your own calendar and territory.
• Comfortable on commercial rooftops and active job sites — able to climb ladders and walk roofs safely.
• Valid Arizona driver's license, reliable transportation, and an insurable driving record.
• Willingness to travel locally for canvassing, site walks, and networking events.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree a plus.
