GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER

General Maintenance Worker General Maintenance Worker typically work under the supervision of a Senior General Maintenance Worker or General Maintenance Supervisor and are responsible for performing a wide variety of general building maintenance and minor repair work involving carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, plumbing, or other mechanical and maintenance skills. Incumbents are required to utilize functional skills in all of these areas. Responsibilities Perform general building maintenance and minor repair work in at least two of these areas: carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, plumbing. Qualifications Two years of experience performing general building maintenance and minor repair work in at least two of the following areas: carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, plumbing. Valid California Class C Driver License or ability to use an alternative method of transportation. Ability to stand or walk most of the time, bend, stoop, squat, twist, reach, work on irregular surfaces, occasionally lift objects over 25 pounds and frequently lift 10-25 pounds. Examination Applicants must pass a multiple-choice and/or simulation assessment weighted 100% assessing job knowledge, mechanical comprehension, achievement, learning potential, safety orientation, teamwork, and thoroughness, with a passing score of 70% or higher.
