Work Environment\n

This position is geared towards professionals who are looking for a flexible work setting. Operating on a full-time basis in a remote capacity, you will have the autonomy to manage your schedule while staying connected with our administrative team and healthcare professionals. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly residents to identify their specific mental health and emotional care needs.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on issues such as loss, anxiety, and transitions associated with aging.

• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including doctors, nurses, and social workers, to develop comprehensive care plans that address the holistic needs of geriatric clients.

• Educate family members and support staff on effective strategies for enhancing emotional well-being and promoting mental health in older adults.
\n
• Provide grief counseling and support to both residents and their families as they navigate end-of-life challenges.

• Design and implement cognitive stimulation activities and mental health interventions to stimulate mental agility amongst elderly clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically focuses on elderly individuals within a community setting who are experiencing various mental health challenges, such as depression, anxiety, and coping with loss. You will be the primary support for seniors during significant life transitions and through the challenges that arise with aging, making your role essential in their journey towards improved well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited university.

• Valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in the state of New York.

• A minimum of four years of recent experience directly related to geriatric mental health counseling.

• Robust understanding of evidence-based therapeutic interventions suited for elderly clients.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills designed to build rapport and effectively connect with elderly individuals.

Compensation and Benefits\n
