Work Environment\n

This role offers a remote work setting with occasional requirements to visit our outpatient office in Hempstead for team meetings and client appointments. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with the possibility of some evening or weekend hours as needed to support client care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans, including pre-crisis and crisis intervention strategies, behavioral guidelines, and medication treatment plans.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation that meets regulatory standards and ensures compliance with organizational policies.

• Utilize evidence-based screening tools and interventions as prescribed by the clinical team to provide personalized and effective care.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement positive behavior support plans that cater to the individual needs of our senior clients.

• Actively engage in all licensing and accreditation processes to uphold the quality and integrity of our services.

• Serve as a collaborative liaison with relevant service systems, state agencies, and community partners to enhance resource availability for clients.

• Establish and maintain effective communication channels with local, state, and federal organizations to foster partnerships and secure funding opportunities.

• Engage in personal and professional development by attending conferences, workshops, and statewide meetings relevant to geriatric mental health.

• Promote and embody the agency’s mission, values, and principles in all aspects of work.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinic Director to enhance service delivery and community impact.

This position primarily focuses on providing mental health support to seniors coping with a variety of life challenges, including loss, transitions, and age-related issues. Counselors will employ a compassionate approach to therapy, helping clients navigate emotional and psychological hurdles to enhance their quality of life and well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.

Compensation and Benefits\n
