The Group provides trading and investment solutions to both producer and consumer clients worldwide.Gerald Metals, based in Stamford, CT, is seeking a highly motivated individual accounting professional to assist in the preparation of books and records in the Accounting Department as well as assist in the financial reporting process. The ideal candidate must have strong data entry, vendor communication, and document control skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems. This position is responsible for recording and reconciling daily cash and broker activity while participating in the month-end and year-end close processes.Responsibilities:Record and reconcile daily cash receipts and disbursementsReview A/P aging reports and follow up on overdue itemsPrepare monthly bank reconciliationsPrepare monthly broker reconciliationsRecord and reconcile all corporate credit cards accountsParticipate in the preparation of the year-end closingAssist the accounting manager with providing analysis and information during the annual auditPrepare bank fees & interest schedulesSpecial projects as assignedRequirements:1-3 years accounting experience in a fast-paced demanding environmentData entry skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailExcellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demandsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel and general computer skillsStrong organizational, communication and presentation skills required
