About the Role Union Data Center Technician II, a position with CBRE (Direct Line). This role involves installation, maintenance, and governance of network and cabling infrastructure within data center environments. Location Mesa, AZ What You'll Do Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment. Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement. Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders. Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain data center cleanliness. Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices. Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles. Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation/redline work. Maintain a broad understanding of data center infrastructure technologies. Perform field terminations and labeling. Lay out MDF and IDF closets, dress all types of cable and perform terminations. Direct/supervise others to perform tasks. Decommission fiber trunks and jumpers. Troubleshoot fiber circuits (Versiv OLTS, OTDR). Perform fiber splicing (OSP, ISP, SM, MM). Conduct and supervise service swaps. Perform multiple pair copper splicing. Follow infrastructure design and install. What You'll Need Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools. Acceptance of responsibility for outcome of work performed. Customer service orientation. Clear understanding of job safety requirements. Ability to read and understand job floor plan. Familiarity with wiring schemes and wiring testing. Ability to pull all types of low voltage cable. Experience performing field terminations and labeling. Capacity to maintain orderly paperwork and run midsize projects and service jobs. Ability to layout MDF and IDF closets. Experience working in data centers. Capability to work on analog, DSL and extend T1 lines. Ability to patch network equipment. Basic understanding of copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting. Troubleshoot copper and fiber cables. Work on analog lines and extend T1 connections.
