Litigation Attorney

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Personal Injury Litigation Attorney for a growing firm in Burbank. The Attorney will manage a caseload of personal injury matters from litigation through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial. This role requires exceptional advocacy skills, strong legal analysis, and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.

Salary: $125,000-$200,000 with bonus opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of personal injury litigation matters, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, trucking accidents, and other negligence claims.
• Evaluate case merits, develop litigation strategies, and provide legal counsel to clients throughout the litigation process.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal arguments.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, experts, and medical providers.
• Conduct settlement negotiations and represent clients at mediations and arbitrations.
• Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, and trial strategy development.
• Attend court hearings, status conferences, and trials.
• Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, medical experts, and other professionals to build strong cases.
• Review medical records, accident reports, and other evidence to assess damages and liability.
• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and litigation developments.
• Ensure compliance with all ethical obligations, court rules, and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license and good standing with the applicable state bar.
• 3+ years of personal injury litigation experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience handling cases through trial, mediation, or arbitration.
• Experience taking and defending depositions and arguing motions before the court.
• Proven track record of successful settlements and litigation outcomes preferred.

• Strong knowledge of personal injury law, civil procedure, and rules of evidence.
• Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and courtroom presentation skills.

• Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Trial experience as first or second chair.
• Experience with catastrophic injury, wrongful death, or complex litigation cases.
• Familiarity with case management software and electronic court filing systems.
• Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
