The HEALTHCARE BILLING SPECIALIST will handle a large backlog of invoices that need processing. As a new system is being implemented the HEALTHCARE BILLING SPECIALIST will need to be dependable and ask questions for accurate refining. Overall, the HEALTHCARE BILLING SPECIALIST will ensure prompt and accurate payments to vendors using policies and procedures.DUTIESUtilize imaging system and verify invoices are accurately scanned and submitted into accounts payable workflow.Electronically route invoices for approval per established policies.Accepts and process electronic invoices in accordance to policies and procedures.Participates in payment processing including check printing and electronic payments ensuring prompt payment of invoices featuring discounts.Communicate with vendors, Accounting, Purchasing, and other internal and external stakeholders.Research vendor invoice and payment issues.Verify vendor accounts by reconcile monthly statements and related transactions.Review of vendor credit balances and refunds to ensure timely resolution.Assist with governmental reporting (i.e. 1099’s).Aid with Internal and External third party audits of Accounts Payable information.Engage in process and system automation improvements.Adhere to proper internal controls to prevent significant errors and irregularities related to the assets of the organizationEnsure compliance with company policies & procedures.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS1+ years experience reading invoicesBasic computer skills - creating PDFs, emailing files1+ years data entry experienceStrong attention to detailMicrosoft Office Suite experienceENVIRONMENTOfficeClericalHealthcareMonday-Friday1st shift core hoursAccounts receivableAccounts payableBillingInvoicingINTERVIEWS & START DATEInterviews August 10-14Start Date August 31, 2026Interviews are onsite with the Team LeadJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Rock Island, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
