An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated special education professional with expertise in early childhood education. Step into a fulfilling contract role as a Transition Coordinator and Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, supporting young learners and their families. This position will have you engaging directly with students and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best educational outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with one of the following endorsements: ZA (Early Childhood Education), ZA (Early Childhood PK), or ZA (Early Childhood SPED)
- Deep understanding of IDEA, MARSE, and IEP compliance
- Previous experience in managing IEP development, conducting evaluations, progress monitoring, and guiding transition planning
- Background in supporting students with behavioral, communication, sensory, feeding/toileting, and developmental needs is highly valued
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide both direct and indirect Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) support to students
- Serve as IEP case manager, overseeing the full IEP process from development to regular evaluation and compliance
- Support transition planning for students, ensuring smooth movement through early intervention to new educational settings
- Maintain open communication with families and collaborate with related service providers
- Utilize data-driven practices to monitor student progress and adapt supports as needed
