Webuild strong personal connections with young individuals to address the root causesof violence and promote life skills essential for their growth. Supported byrespected community members, DSGSH fosters open discussions to shift societalnorms around firearm use and conflict resolution. Board Member Role Overview We are seeking passionate, committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. Board Members play a critical role in governance, strategic direction, fundraising support, and overall organizational sustainability. We have several open board seats and are looking to fill them as soon as possible. Responsibilities Provide governance, oversight, and strategic guidance to support the organization’s mission Attend and actively participate in board meetings and committees Support fundraising efforts, grant development, and community partnerships Serve as an ambassador for Don’t Shoot Guns, Shoot Hoops within the community Ensure the organization operates ethically, legally, and in alignment with its mission Contribute professional expertise (e.g., nonprofit leadership, finance, legal, education, public safety, advocacy, marketing, or community organizing) Ideal Candidates Strong commitment to youth development, violence prevention, and victim advocacy.
