EVS Team MemberNorman - Norman, OK 73026; Shawnee - Shawnee, OK 74801OverviewPosition Type: Full Time Job Shift: AnyDescriptionThe Environmental Services (EVS) objective is to provide a clean, sanitary comfortable atmosphere for Thunderbird Entertainment Center guests and employees while maintaining high levels of customer service and guest experience. EVS will promote sanitary conditions, must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects/materials and/or the clean-up of hazardous materials.QualificationsEssential Functions of the Position:Ensures Thunderbird quality guest experience and cheerful atmosphere is maintainedMaintain a pleasant and professional attitudeOperate in accordance with existing policies/proceduresRemain current on all training required within the department and the casinoOperates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free conditionResponsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materialsMust handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etcMust comply with all regulations such as OSHA, EPADust Machines, light fixtures, window sills, etcEmpty trash containers regularlyEmpty and wash ashtrays regularlyConsistently monitor and push in chairs throughout the casinoMaintain clean sanitary restrooms throughout the facilitiesReport any needed repairs immediately to supervisor or Facility Manager (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, etc.)Wash windows and doors as scheduledCompletely strip and recoat all floor areas when necessary and as scheduledCheck entire facility for spills, water, etcClean and restock all drink stations except grill at Norman CasinoPerform carpet cleaning with provided carpet cleaner and trainingMaintains high levels of confidentiality at all time to protect employees and the organizationOther duties as assigned or requested by managementJob Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledgeable of Federal/state/Tribal Employment laws and regulations.Knowledge of the operation of a variety of computer software, including MS Outlook and internet.Knowledge of various mechanized cleaning equipment, radio and phone systems and various cleaning chemicals and materials.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; skill in working in an environment subject to constant interruptions and quickly changing priorities; ability to prioritize.Ability to function in a professional manner during high stress/volume situations.Ability to learn quickly, self-leader with initiative, highly flexible and comfortable in a constantly changing environment.Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and independently.Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.Supervisory Responsibilities:No direct supervisory responsibilities, but will be responsible for an assigned area in the casino.Physical Demands:Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Work Environment:Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.Exposure to smoking and secondhand smoke.Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.Noise level can range from minimal to intense.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma (or equivalent combination of education and experience combined).Two (2) years housekeeping experience preferred.Must be 18 years of age or older.Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a non-key gaming license.Absentee Shawnee Tribal Members and Indian Preference in filling this vacancy is given to qualified candidates, in accordance with Title 25, US Code Section 472 and 473.
