Surgery - Vascular Nurse Practitioner

Orientation April 23 7a-3pm 8 hour day
Apr 24 7a-3pm 8 hour day + week night beeper call 14 hours
Apr 25 7am-7am 24 hour call
Apr 26 7am-7am 24 hour call

Work Details:
Support Staff: Surgeon
Amount of Coverage Needed per Month: 4 days, 7a-3p plus call 3p-7a
Patients per day: 10-15 CVICU/step down patients, plus 1-2 surgeries
Patient Population/Age: adult/geron
Department Description: CT Surgery
EMR: Cerner
Hospital Bed size: 199
Special Procedures: temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, Aline placement
Skills Required: recent cardiothoracic surgery, proficient with EVH

Requirements:
Board Certification: PA
License Required: AZ
DEA: yes

Minimum Experience Required: 3 years in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH
Graduate from a university program approved by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants ( NCCPA) - Required
Or
Master's Degree in Nursing- Required
Certification & Licensures
Certified or certification eligible by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).- Required
Licensure or eligible for licensing as a Physicians Assistant in the State of Arizona Required
ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association)- Required
OR
Graduate from an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program Required
Completion of a RN/NP First Assistant Program- Required
Current unrestricted Arizona APRN license- Required
Medical Surgical or NP ANCC or AANP Certification- Required
ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association)- Required
Credentialing Timeframe: 30 days
