We use an initial assessment phase to create a strategic plan to guide our work and client relationships.The Occupational Health Coordinator is a registered nurse (RN) who is responsible for assisting the Occupational Health Manager in overseeing the occupational health clinic, staff, and programs for the host organization by providing clinical services, health assessments, and case management dedicated to helping patients everywhere enjoy better and longer lives.Primary responsibilities include:Providing nursing assessment and interventions within the scope of practice of the registered nurse (RN).Evaluate employees with work-related injuries and illnesses and/or personal medical conditions for their fitness for duty.Provide first aid/initial treatment and triage for site employees and contractors who experience work-related injuries.Responsible for providing return-to-work clearance for employees.Perform required screens.Manage credentialing program.Providing pre-employment and annual physicals.Provide educational offerings to employees.Collaborate with the client's staff.Lead and or participate in special projects assigned by the client leadership.Additional duties include:Conduct, as appropriate, and/or manage all required surveillance examinations.Provide medical surveillance support (testing and tracking) for client employees.Provide Health Assessment services. This includes completing required physical assessments of employees and performing other selected tests as needed at the site.Provide Health Assessment employee review. Determinations of the employee's fitness for work are communicated to management.Provide first-line injury and illness care for work-related conditions.Provide emergency medical response as required.Interface with local hospitals and emergency medical providers to enable quality and continuity of care following possible injury, illness, or exposure.Provide personal and work-related injury case management as defined by the client's policies and guidelines.Provide medical advice/input to site leadership on work-relatedness of injuries/illnesses. Organize independent medical examinations as appropriate and in coordination with the client.Promote and support client wellness programs.Provide adequate clinical documentation of services provided to host organization employees. This includes electronic medical records as well as traditional paper records maintained in a manner consistent with local law and medical practice.Faxing/scanning/copying.Answer phone.Clinic scheduling.Medical waste management.Clinic stocking/purchasing/expensing.Export/import test results.Qualifications include:Current license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee.BLS Certification required.Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent desirable.Certification in Occupational Health Nursing is desirable.Experience in Medical Surveillance / Workers Compensation Case Management.Ability to organize, plan, work independently, and manage multiple responsibilities.Ability to use and learn technology like Microsoft programs and other tools.Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.3-5 years of nursing experience.2-5 years of occupational health nursing preferred.Competencies required include:Knowledge of anatomy & physiology, toxicology, health promotion, lifestyle risk factors, and ergonomics.Certification in Hearing Conservation and Spirometry is desirable.Working knowledge of laws, standards, and safety regulations in occupational health (OSHA, FMLA, Workers Compensation).Familiarity with epidemiology, safety, industrial hygiene, wellness, and behavioral change theory.Emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and motivation.What We Offer:401(k) retirement plan.PPE and safety gear provided.Educational assistance and certification support.Employee discounts and benefits.Healthcare.Company paid Disability, and Life Insurance.A supportive team culture rooted in care and service.Join us at BHS and be a part of a team that values excellence, integrity, service, and humility.
