Director, Aging Well & Asset Development

Aging Well and Asset Development Director Primary Responsibilities Responsible for the oversight and coordination of programs that support individuals and families experiencing crisis or barriers to stability, including the Family Assets for Independence in Minnesota (FAIM) Program and senior Home Care and Repair services. Provides leadership, program development, staff supervision, grant oversight, and community collaboration to support agency goals and client success. Comply with all agency policies and procedures. Represent the agency professionally both internally and externally. Deliver friendly, responsive service to the public, community organizations, and clients. Engage respectfully and positively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Foster and maintain productive relationships necessary to execute job responsibilities. Demonstrate efficient and flexible time management. Uphold confidentiality and security of all records and communications. Advocate for the needs of clients and programs. Collaborate effectively with community partners and colleagues. Actively participate in agency-wide and program-specific events. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Human Services, Counseling, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One (1) to three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance coverage. Preferred Qualifications Understanding of diverse cultures and backgrounds. Experience working with or alongside a Community Action Agency. Nonprofit management and grant administration experience. Manages the following positions: Aging Well Systems Specialist, Aging Well Administrative Assistant, FAIM Administrative Assistant Essential Functions Planning & Development Responsible for agency-wide planning, research, development, and reporting. Coordinate and work with department managers to prepare and report integrated agency outcomes (ex. ROMA). Collaborate effectively with other organizations, agencies, and the public to promote and support community partnerships. In collaboration with the management team, plan and develop new programming to address the causes and conditions of poverty in the communities we serve. In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer, completes the annual CSBG/OEO report and biannual Community Action Plan. Management and supervision of FAIM staff. Connect with FAIM providers across the state and provide training and technical assistance to achieve the goal of asset development. Work closely with grantee administrative staff, fiscal and clerical, collaborative and other interagency personnel. Supervision of Lead Maintenance Provider and Home Care Provider for senior programming, including oversight of service delivery, time management, accounts payable, and professional development. Responsible for grant writing and proposals for Senior Programming, and completion of program reports for senior programs. Evaluate client support service requests based on budget and client’s goal plan. Manage relationships with funders, vendors and community partners to ensure a continuum of services for senior clients. Determines needs of client base and prioritizes resource purchases accordingly. Conduct training for intra/interagency staff as required. Assist advocates in selecting clients from eligible applicants. Refers client within WCMCA and to outside agencies which provide the services required to meet client needs and act as liaison and client advocate for such referrals. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the CEO. INTERPERSONAL Team oriented with ability to work productively with individuals of various educational, professional, and cultural backgrounds. Self-starter who productively works independently.
