Make a real difference each day supporting students as a paraprofessional in a dynamic school environment near Blue Springs, MO. This contract role is ideal for individuals passionate about education and helping children thrive both academically and socially. As a paraprofessional, you will work closely with teachers and staff to provide personalized assistance to students, ensuring their unique needs are met within an inclusive classroom setting.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, classroom aide, or in a similar school-based support role.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework or certifications in education or special needs support is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible environment and manage shifting priorities.
- Comfort working with students with diverse backgrounds and learning abilities.
- Collaborative spirit and willingness to take initiative under teacher supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Support classroom teachers with lesson preparation, behavior management, and organization.
- Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and accommodations for students with special needs.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment.
- Supervise students during class, lunch, recess, and transitions.
- Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on student progress to teaching staff.
