Managing Director - Head of Americas Investments

A major global investment institution is establishing and expanding its investment presence across the Americas and is seeking an exceptional senior investment professional to lead the platform from New York. This is a highly strategic leadership appointment with responsibility for developing the institution's investment activity, partnerships and senior relationships across North and South America. The successful individual will combine a strong track record of direct investing with the credibility and network to represent a significant global investment institution across the US and broader Americas. The mandate is intentionally broad and will provide exposure to opportunities across private equity, technology and AI, infrastructure, industrials and other strategic sectors. Key Responsibilities Lead the institution's Americas investment presence, based in New York. Originate and evaluate significant direct investment and strategic partnership opportunities across North and South America. Develop relationships with leading private equity firms, institutional investors, corporations, entrepreneurs, family offices and financial institutions. Build senior relationships across the wider US investment and business ecosystem. Work closely with global investment teams to identify, evaluate and progress opportunities through the investment process. Participate in investment evaluation, structuring, negotiation and execution of major transactions. Develop strategic partnerships and co-investment opportunities with leading global investors. Represent the institution at the highest levels across the Americas. Provide market intelligence and strategic insight on investment themes, sectors and opportunities. Build and lead the New York platform as it continues to expand. Candidate Profile We are looking for an established investment leader with approximately 20+ years of experience and a strong track record of investing in the Americas. Candidates are likely to have developed their careers within a leading: Global private equity or alternative investment firm Pension or retirement investment fund Government-backed investment institution Large institutional investment platform Diversified investment holding company Family investment office The successful candidate should demonstrate significant direct investment experience, including origination, underwriting, transaction execution and portfolio/board involvement. Experience investing across multiple sectors is particularly attractive. Just as importantly, the individual should possess an exceptional network across the US investment, corporate and institutional landscape and be comfortable developing long-term strategic relationships at CEO, board and institutional level. Experience interacting with government bodies, policymakers, development institutions or other public-sector stakeholders would be highly advantageous. Why Consider This Opportunity?
