Title: Office Services Assistant (Hourly): P&P District #21 Fredericksburg #W2105 State Role Title: Admin and Office Spec II Hiring Range: $18.88 - $23.90 Pay Band: 2 Agency: Dept of Corr - Central Admin Location: Fredericksburg P&P Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Enhance public safety by carrying out the sentences given to convicted felons and misdemeanants in a humane, cost-efficient manner which is consistent with sound correctional principles and constitutional standards. Provides clerical and administrative support to Probation and Parole Services' staff by keying reports and correspondence from draft, maintaining files, greeting, and assisting visitors and callers. Performs keyboarding duties, entering data in agency data systems and fiscal support duties. This is an hourly position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The hourly employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All hourly employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This hourly position offers no state benefits. Minimum Qualifications Keyboarding skills, attention to details, demonstrated ability to research, demonstrated proofreading ability; dependable; demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a large office, accuracy essential, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. Due to highly confidential nature of work a police record check is conducted on applicants before employment. Additional Considerations Experience providing administrative support to include data entry, filing, and other related administrative duties in a professional setting. Recent experience providing customer service in a professional setting. Experience using MS Office applications. Recent experience using all office equipment in addition to computers and the use of multi-line telephones. post-secondary courses in office administration or training or experience in a related field. Experience with case-management database or an automated database other than MS Office. Administrative experience in a criminal justice, court, or law office setting.
