Treatment Action Group (TAG) is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and organized Grant Officer to support grant and fundraising efforts. This position will report to TAG’s Chief Operating Officer. This is a full-time, salaried role. The Grant Officer will create and manage grant initiatives and systems to support TAG in leveraging 34 years of leadership in research and policy advocacy to end the epidemics of HIV, tuberculosis (TB), and hepatitis C virus (HCV). To this end, TAG is seeking a grant professional with a background in domestic and global public health research, practice, and advocacy, focused on maintaining and expanding TAG’s current portfolio of grants, adding new grants as needed. The Grant Officer will maintain current grant and donor systems and processes, coordinate funder reporting and logistical management, and provide research and data support to inform TAG’s grant efforts. The role requires a strong work ethic, good judgment, self-direction, and the ability to work collaboratively. Excellent project management, organization, and communication skills (written and verbal) are required. Key Duties & Responsibilities Include: Grants Lead all grant-related efforts for TAG; Work with TAG staff to take lead on grant writing; Maintain grant systems and file storage, and ensure all files are up-to-date; Ensure grant reporting is calendarized, planned, and implemented in a timely manner; Conduct research on potential grant prospects; Use funder portals for regular submissions and reports; Create and update catalog of program information for future grant proposals; and Provide support as needed and requested by the COO, Executive Director, and program and policy directors. Handle data entry and gift and grant acknowledgments in coordination with TAG administrative staff and the finance director; Use and maintain customer relationship management (CRM) system (currently Salsa CRM), including donor queries, data clean-up, and donor analysis; Research donor data and donor prospects including giving history and capacity analysis; and Provide support for regular giving campaigns and fundraising events. Communications Support TAG’s grant communications, including social media and digital campaigns as needed; and Lead meeting/call coordination for grants and fundraising. Background, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities A minimum of two years of professional experience in a nonprofit development/ fundraising/ grants team setting; Strong preference for grant writing experience focused on HIV, TB, HCV and/or domestic and global public health causes; Excellent research, oral communication, and writing skills, with relevant grant writing experience prioritized; Basic Microsoft Office and Google Suite skills; Experience using a donor CRM system; Superb organization skills, attention to detail, and follow-through; Robust project management skills and ability to balance competing deadlines and priorities in a fast-moving, dynamic work environment; Strong interpersonal and networking skills; friendly rapport with the ability to communicate effectively in a collegial manner and maintain relationships; Sound judgment and problem-solving capacity; Self-starter who can work independently and proactively in periods of limited supervision; Receptivity to feedback; Curiosity and willingness to learn about new, technical subject matters without becoming intimidated; Demonstrated experience or commitment to working in a multicultural environment where commitment to diversity based on race, ethnic and national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, and physical ability is an important institutional value; and Enthusiasm for TAG’s mission is a must; familiarity with advocacy, health, policy making, or lived experience with the conditions on which TAG works is a plus. Salary & Benefits The salary for this full-time role will range from $75,000 to $85,000, depending on experience. Location and Hours This is an exempt position, with 40 hours per week expected generally within TAG’s office hours (generally 10 am-6 pm ET). Work on evenings and weekends may occur. While there is a strong preference for a candidate located in the NYC-metro region, remote applicants with strong skills alignment may be considered. While TAG is open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S. who can work within TAG’s office hours and travel to New York City for team planning and special events, candidates based in the New York City area are preferred. TAG does not have the capacity to provide visa support. Only candidates with existing authorization to work in the U.S. will be eligible.
