Start Date: 08/08/2026

Shift: 24-hour call on weekends, 7a-7a; Weekdays: 7a-4p, 4p-7a (night call)

Duration: August 2026, with ongoing coverage possibility

Hours/week: Variable based on scheduling

Employment Type: Locum/Contract

Licensure/Certifications: Ohio licensed PA, BLS/ACLS, DEA (if applicable)

Experience: Minimum 1+ year surgical experience in cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery

Hourly Rate: $275-$290 / hour

Call Compensation: $700 (night call), $1,975 (24-hour call), or $276-$290 (Tier 2 rates)

What You'll Do

• Assist with hospital rounding, surgery, and clinic duties in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
• Support surgical team with procedures such as removal of chest tubes, pulmonary artery catheters, epicardial wires, and intra-aortic balloon pumps
• Participate in elective and emergent surgeries, including CABG, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
• Take call responsibilities to support urgent surgical and rounding needs
• Collaborate with support staff and supervise clinical procedures using Meditech and eCW EMR systems

What You Need

• Ohio medical licensure as a Physician Assistant
• Minimum 1+ year experience in cardiovascular or thoracic surgical settings
• Skills in removal of chest tubes, pulmonary artery catheters, epicardial wires, intra-aortic balloon pumps, vein and artery harvesting
• Ability to work flexible schedule and cover specified dates (08/22-08/27 and 08/31-09/14)
• Strong clinical skills and team collaboration abilities
