Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience required License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - At least 1 year of telemetry experience - Willingness to learn about neurology Description: This position is for a telemetry registered nurse specializing in a neuro unit. Candidates should have at least one year of telemetry experience. Experience in neurology is not required, but candidates need to be aware that it is a heavy neuro unit. They must be willing to learn and adapt to the needs of the unit. The role may involve floating between units as needed. Weekends are required, specifically every other weekend. The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5. Nurses should be comfortable using the NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients as well as various neurology diagnoses. Strong skills in dysrhythmia management, telemetry, and experience with procedural sedation administration are preferred. The work environment is a designated stroke unit with a high level of interdisciplinary support. Traveling nurses may be expected to float to nearby facilities as per unit needs.
