Overview Registered Nurse - Med Surg in a travel, temporary assignment for 17 weeks in Rochester, NY. Start date: 09/14/2026. Shifts are 12 hours with rotating D/E/N coverage; weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback per unit needs. Weekly pay ranges from $2,147 to $2,287. This role places you on an adult medical/surgical unit in an inpatient setting that also cares for patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and/or behavioral issues. The unit is expanding and seeking flexible, reliable nurses. Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to adult med/surg patients in an inpatient setting
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments; monitor vital signs, respond to changes in patient condition, and administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Manage telemetry monitoring and document rhythm changes; communicate findings to the care team
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care, including discharge planning and patient/family education
• Maintain accurate, complete documentation in the electronic medical record; adhere to clinical policies and safety protocols
• Ensure patient safety and comfort, address patient needs promptly, and participate in unit activities and on-call duties as required

Requirements

• RN license in New York State (NY RN License)
• Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience
• Psychology experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Ability to work a rotating schedule, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and callbacks
• Willingness to pursue dual-certification in medical/surgical and psychiatric nursing after meeting experience requirements
