AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring the cloud remains reliable and secure. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment including generators, switchboards, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, and building automation systems. Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal service level agreements. Perform limited maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC preventive maintenance, and rack power/ATS replacements. Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians. Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures. Ensure all safety procedures are followed while performing maintenance work. Work a 12‑hour shift on rotating 3‑, 4‑, or 5‑day work weeks. Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log keeping. Use internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory. Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance. Respond to off‑hour emergency calls as part of the region’s on‑call rotation. Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies. Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities. Manipulate small wires and objects as required. Physical Requirements Walk job sites in uneven terrain. Work at heights and from ladders. Regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds; group lifts for 40 pounds or more. Bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working. Push or pull heavy objects into position. Work in noisy environments. Basic Qualifications 2+ years of relevant work experience. Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above. Preferred Qualifications 4+ years of data center engineering experience. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low‑voltage (copper/fiber) cabling. Experience in data center engineering. Ability to perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired. Benefits The base salary range for this position is $37.00 – $65.00 USD per hour.
