Jr. MEP Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Assist with the design and development of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for commercial and residential buildings.
\n
• Prepare and modify engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit .
\n
• Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building-system layouts and calculations.
\n
• Support preparation of construction documents, design calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
\n
• Perform field surveys and assist with documenting existing building conditions.
\n
• Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
\n
• Assist senior engineers with project coordination, site visits, and construction administration.
\n
• Review applicable building codes, standards, and project requirements.
\n
• Maintain accurate project documentation and meet project schedules.
\n

Minimum Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline .
\n
• 0–3 years of MEP/building design experience ; internships or co-op experience are welcome.
\n
• Basic knowledge of building MEP systems and engineering design principles.
\n
• Proficiency in AutoCAD ; knowledge of Revit MEP/BIM is preferred.
\n
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• EIT certification or progress toward obtaining EIT.
\n
• Experience with commercial, residential, institutional, or facilities projects .
\n
• Familiarity with applicable NY/NJ building codes and industry standards .
\n
• Exposure to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, or building systems design.
\n
