Accounting Manager

As we continue to expand, we’re seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead and elevate our accounting practice. This role is ideal for a proven leader with deep experience supporting venture-backed startups, who can combine technical excellence with strategic vision. The Director will play a key role in shaping client experience, developing scalable processes, and mentoring a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities Oversee and review GAAP financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across a diverse portfolio of VC-backed startups. Lead and grow the firm’s accounting practice, driving excellence in client delivery, team performance, and operational scalability. Serve as a trusted advisor to founders, CFOs, and boards, providing guidance on accounting operations, financial reporting, and investor expectations. Build and refine scalable accounting processes, leveraging technology and automation to drive efficiency and consistency. Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting managers and associates, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented culture. Partner cross-functionally with tax, advisory, and engineering teams to deliver integrated client solutions. Contribute to firm leadership initiatives, product development, and strategic growth planning. Qualifications Active CPA license preferred. 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting leadership roles, ideally with a background in VC-backed startups or high-growth companies. Prior experience as a Senior Manager or above in a Big 4, national, or leading regional accounting firm. Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP financial reporting and technical accounting. Strong understanding of startup operations, equity structures, and investor reporting. Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple client engagements, and deliver exceptional client service.
