Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Commercial Lines Account Manager to join a growing team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in middle-market commercial account management particularly in handling sophisticated and complex accounts. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing client relationships developing renewal strategies and negotiating directly with insurers.

Compensation Package

• Salary Range : Up to $110000 commensurate with experience.
• Benefits : Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance.
• Remote Work : Flexible options available. Candidates local to Charlottesville VA are preferred with the expectation to work in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays if within 60 minutes of the office. Fully remote candidates in MD VA NC or WV will also be considered for the right fit.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of sophisticated middle-market commercial accounts with premiums ranging from $150000 to $2 million.
• Develop and execute renewal strategies including direct insurer negotiations and marketing efforts.
• Conduct contractual insurance reviews and ensure comprehensive property and casualty coverage for clients.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients maintaining strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
• Collaborate with analysts and support staff to ensure seamless account management.
• Present insurance solutions and strategies to senior client leadership with confidence and professionalism.
• Stay updated on industry trends and embrace innovative tools including AI to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Licensure : Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license required.
• Experience : Minimum of 5 years in middle-market commercial account management with direct ownership of large multi-line accounts.
• Industry Knowledge : Expertise in complex property and casualty coverage with a strong preference for experience in real estate construction or non-profit/human services sectors.
• Skills :
  • Proven ability to negotiate directly with insurers and underwriters.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior client leadership.
  • Proficiency in AMS360 software is preferred.
  • Adaptability and openness to leveraging AI and other innovative tools.
• Location : Candidates local to Charlottesville VA or within a 60-minute commute are preferred. Remote candidates in MD VA NC or WV will also be considered.
