Secretary Position
Lincoln Park Public Schools announces a vacancy for Secretary for the 2026-2027 school year at Hoover Elementary School and any positions resulting from this posting.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of good office practices and procedures
- Very good computer skills
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred
- Ability to deal with deadlines
- Ability to operate office machines
- Ability to display initiative and pay attention to details
- Good telephone communication skills are very necessary
- Must maintain confidentiality
- Knowledgeable in the use of computer programs such as Google Drive, MiStar, and specifically as it relates to attendance and scheduling
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, flexible approach in a fast-paced school office environment
- Elementary level student experience preferred
Duties:
- Type, file, and use various computer programs
- Use a centralized student attendance and maintenance of attendance reports
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of new student enrollment records and processing student withdrawal records
- Maintain confidentiality of all Student and Personnel information
- Work on diversified assignments in the midst of answering the telephone and handling staff and student contacts
- Work collaboratively and effectively with diverse personnel, including administrators, instructional and non-instructional staff, parents, and students
- Create a friendly, professional environment for all
- Other such duties as assigned by the Principal
Responsible To: Building Administrator
Work Schedule: 7:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. School Calendar Hours and calendar subject to change
Salary: According to AFSCME, Local 849 Master Agreement, Secretarial Salary Schedule
