Field Sales Engineer

HBK is looking for a proactive, self‑motivated Field Sales Engineer to be located in NC, VA or MD. The role will be home‑based with up to 40% travel. Technical knowledge combined with sales skills will be pivotal in this role to serve as HBK’s solutions provider across a wide variety of vertical market applications including aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial automation and power measurement industries. The role covers the complete HBK Test and Measurement portfolio, which includes data acquisition systems, sound & vibration, strain gauges, torque sensors, power test, and structural testing products. Primary Responsibilities Direct sales responsibilities – provide sales coverage for the territory of SC, NC, VA, MD, DC, WV and NJ Provide regular feedback of territory business climate to management Identify new business and maintain loyalty of existing customer base Establish and maintain professional selling relationships across all levels of the customer’s organization, including engineering, marketing, purchasing, and senior management Plan and execute customer visits and presentations to promote HBK awareness and develop opportunities Develop strategies to grow HBK’s presence in automotive, military, machinery, and other market segments Have technical understanding of key HBK products with ability to perform basic hardware and software demonstrations Participate in regional trade shows and conferences to foster new opportunities Develop and maintain sales forecast, coordinating closely with inside sales Support marketing with application information and feedback Diligently log sales activities and opportunities in Salesforce CRM Network and prospect for new opportunities and contacts using social media Professional Qualifications ME or EE degree or other technical degree in an engineering or physical science discipline strongly preferred Experience selling one or more of the following: acoustics, sound/vibration measurement, DAQ, test and measurement products, sensors; ideal candidate will have experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Acoustics or Test Measurement Must be self‑motivated, organized and able to handle numerous parallel tasks and projects Excellent verbal and written communication skills; technical ability to learn diverse product line a must Background in instrumentation, test or data acquisition, acoustics Ability and experience in demonstrating technical products Proven track record in sales with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of sales experience meeting or exceeding sales quota, beneficial Successful history working from home office with minimal supervision Compensation The pay range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 annually plus a 43% bonus plan. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.
