CDOC Physician

This position provides routine and emergency medical care, on-call assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of inmates in one or more prison clinical settings. Physicians are responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Conducting medical/physical examinations; Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests and diagnosing medical conditions; Prescribing medications and treatment; Educating patients about preventive health care; Ensuring minor medical procedures are performed on-site; Accountable for the work product of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Minimum Qualifications: Applicant must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Colorado as a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy; Applicant must be board eligible or board certified by the appropriate board recognized by the American Medical Association, in one of the following specialty areas: Emergency Medicine Family Medicine Internal Medicine Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Preventive Medicine Required Competencies: Ability to provide direct patient care to inmates; Knowledgeable in full-spectrum primary care; Skilled in office-based procedures; Ability to maintain professionalism in a complex environment; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. #J-18808-Ljbffr State of Colorado
