Assistant Manager

Location 17262 Redmond Way, Redmond, WA, 98052 Position Description Our Panera Bread cafés are upscale, friendly venues featuring baked breads and pastries, made‑to‑order soups, salads, and sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages. No fryers or late nights – we focus on quality, grease‑free, and alcohol‑free environment. As a Manager, you will supervise up to 75 staff members, ensuring a top‑quality service experience for our guests. You will provide outstanding leadership, inspire others, coach, counsel, create a profitable environment, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Key duties include maintaining high standards of restaurant cleanliness, sanitation, food quality, safety, and facility management. Managers must ensure a warm, welcoming atmosphere and uphold our core values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Take responsibility for overall business performance of the restaurant, including ordering, scheduling, labor management, marketing, facilities management, bakery operations, and catering. Analyze and plan restaurant sales levels and profitability. Create and execute plans for sustained profitability. Serve as the primary conduit of information between associates and the management team. Retain and develop team members and managers. Manage a budget and control costs. Coordinate the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts. Greeting customers and performing table visits to ensure customer satisfaction. Inspire associates to have fun, be authentic, and produce high productivity. Coach and mentor associates through one‑on‑one sessions, performance documentation, and performance reviews. Anticipate problems and take action to prevent them. Resolve associate questions as the primary resource. Act as the primary specialist within the bakery‑café, ensuring associates are properly trained and competent in all aspects of food service and customer support. Recruit, hire, and train staff to meet staffing level requirements. Ensure objectives are achieved while operating within all company guidelines, cultural values, and ethical business practices. Education and Experience At least 2–3 years of hospitality management experience. A degree or equivalent experience in hospitality or hotel/restaurant management is preferred. Food management certifications are a plus. Must possess a “Run it Like You Own It” mentality. Physical Standards Must be able to stand and perform well‑paced mobility for up to ten (10) hours. Must be able to safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds. Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication. Must possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment. Assistant Manager Compensation Hourly: $23.00 – $27.00 per hour; plus monthly profit share, up to 5 hours of overtime each week.
