The Bakery Production Associate plays an important role in daily café operations by preparing bakery products, organizing ingredients, maintaining food safety standards, and helping keep production on schedule. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working on their feet, and able to maintain consistent production standards while working at a steady pace. Daily Responsibilities Prepare baked goods and other bakery products according to established recipes and procedures Measure, portion, mix, prepare, thaw, and handle ingredients as required for production Follow daily production schedules and help ensure products are prepared in a timely manner Assist with opening and early-morning bakery production activities when scheduled Monitor products during preparation to ensure proper quality, appearance, and consistency Properly store ingredients and finished products according to company procedures Use bakery and kitchen equipment in accordance with safety and operating procedures Clean and sanitize equipment, preparation surfaces, tools, and assigned work areas Maintain proper food handling and sanitation practices throughout the shift Help with café food preparation and other operational tasks when needed Assist customers and provide friendly service when working in guest-facing areas Operate the POS system and process transactions when assigned Communicate with coworkers and café leadership to keep production moving efficiently Participate in training and apply coaching and feedback Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Café Manager or other members of management What Will Make You Successful We're looking for someone who: Takes pride in producing fresh, consistent, quality food Pays close attention to recipes, measurements, presentation, and food safety Can maintain a steady pace while handling multiple production responsibilities Is dependable and prepared to contribute each scheduled shift Communicates effectively with coworkers and management Works well independently as well as within a team Maintains a positive attitude in a busy environment Is willing to learn new recipes, procedures, equipment, and responsibilities Accepts coaching and uses feedback to improve performance Keeps their work area organized and takes responsibility for cleanliness Understands the importance of following food safety and workplace safety procedures Physical & Work Environment Requirements This position requires frequent standing, movement, lifting, and repetitive physical activity. Candidates must be able to: Regularly lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or more Stand and remain active for extended periods during the workday Bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move throughout the café and food preparation areas Perform repetitive hand, arm, and body movements for extended periods Use hands and fingers with the dexterity required to prepare food and operate kitchen equipment Safely operate bakery and kitchen equipment Work safely around food preparation equipment, cleaning products, and workplace chemicals Work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes confined food production environment Complete cleaning, stocking, preparation, and other physical duties associated with café operations Our Workplace We expect every team member to help create a positive, respectful, and professional environment.
